“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Mommy & Me
We have all heard that we can’t “Mom” alone and that it “takes a village” to raise a child. Well, we are here to say, “YES!” to that. Absolutely, but is that all it takes? Just other moms around us? How do we actually find these other moms? How do we know if someone is really in our corner? How many times have you gone to the playground with high hopes of making a new “mom friend” and nothing happens? That is where “Mornings with Mommy and Me” comes in.
We are here to give you a place to go, a place to go to intentionally meet other Moms in an informal fun way. Our goal is to create an environment where you can come and spend intentional time with your child while being with other Moms. Moms who are figuring life out just like you. Moms who are also doing a ‘google search’ at 2am to make sure their child is okay. Moms who feel insufficient and guilty at the end of the day. Moms who want to “do it all right.” Moms who are longing for friendship and community just like you.
The foundation of our Mom community at Wesley Chapel is the Gospel. We know and understand that we cannot Mom alone because we were never made for that. We simply are not enough and never will be on our own. It’s only through God’s grace and guidance will we meet the mark. Motherhood teaches us and reminds us of our dependency on the Lord God for EVERYTHING. Within a Gospel community we seek to build each other up and encourage one another to seek the Lord and press into Him more and more. It’s only by growing in Christ that we can truly love and serve Him well and then ultimately love and serve our families well.
“For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Isaiah 41:13
Each meeting we start with our circle time or group time where your child is invited to sit on a carpet square or your lap. During these 20 minutes you and your child will enjoy music & instruments, nursery rhymes & felt stories, books and bible stories all facilitating by our leader, Ms. April Leahey. After group time, parents are invited to stay and mingle, exchange numbers, schedule play dates and just start conversation with someone new.
